My son received this as a Christmas present. It is his first regular lego kit. Up until now he has been using the larger blocks.

We had a great time putting it together. It is a little tricky and I ended up doing a lot of the work. He is 4 and it was still a little difficult for him to be patient and work through the instructions.

As we finished each component he got more and more excited. When it was done he just loved it. Of course it wasn’t long before he started ‘breaking’ it. I put it together a few times, then we just tore it apart.

Then we started the real fun of creating our own ships and other things. His birthday isn’t far away and he is already asking for more lego kits. This is a really great toy.

Oh - and I rated this well on education too because it involves some really cool stuff with gears and levers. We took the time to look at how it went together and why it worked. Very neat stuff. Even with all the pieces lego didn’t have when I was a kid and the movie theme, this is still great for creative play.
